Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Audiobook Free

The Philosopher’s Stone Audiobook, also known as “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone Audiobook,” is the first book in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. Since its release, the series has become a worldwide phenomenon, selling over 400 million copies and inspiring a series of beloved films.

In Harry’s first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, after discovering his magical ability, Harry begins a new life at Hogwarts, where he makes friends and enemies alike. With the help of his friends, Harry faces the return of the dark wizard, Lord Voldemort, who killed Harry’s parents but couldn’t kill Harry himself when he was just a baby.

In this article, we’ll explore the audiobook version of this book and why it’s a must-listen for fans of the wizarding world.

The Journey from Platform Nine and Three-Quarters

Eleven-year-old Harry Potter is an orphaned English boy forced to live with his horrible aunt and uncle, the Dursleys, and their chubby, spoiled son Dudley. They treat Harry cruelly and dislike him so much that they don’t even celebrate his birthday.

But things begin brighter when a mysterious letter arrives for Harry via an owl messenger. It’s announced that he has been accepted to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

From there he learns that his parents were murdered by an evil and power-hungry psychopath named Lord Voldemort and that Harry’s right place is at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a magical castle hidden somewhere in the UK.

After a fantastic journey on a huge red steam train from a hidden platform nine and three-quarters at London’s King Cross station, Harry finally begins to feel at home and accepted at Hogwarts. He makes close friends with two fellow students Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, after that, they start an unexpected adventure to discover the secret of Hogwarts and the truth about the murderer killing his parents.

Narrator

Stephen Fry is the reader of the UK version of all Harry Potter Audiobooks. I’m willing to call Stephen Fry’s readings super great with gravitas about his reading. Partially, it’s because he has a deep voice and a sense of how to slow down and lend an ominous quality to certain passages.

  1. Just wanted to let you know for sometime now only the Jim Dale version plays on both players here really miss the Stephen Fry version

  2. Thank you for adding these books here! It’s wonderful to be able to listen to them anytime.

One thing i wanted to let you know – the new player required for the device to be on always while listening. Which means i cannot listen to them on my phone because if it locks it stops playing. Your previous player had the ability to do that, which would be nice to have again if possible with the new one.

  3. The audio stops about half way through the chapter. The player won’t load after that. I tried a few different Harry Potter novels, different chapters and it does the same thing.

  4. I see I am not the only person having issues with chapters not continuing to play after one chapter finishes another chapter would automatically begin. Is anyone finding an solution to this issue? Thanks for anyone’s assistance, I really love this site and use it to fall asleep.

    • Sorry about that. I have no knowledge of coding and I’m not a good coder, So I just try my best. I have no problem with auto-play the next chapter, and I don’t know why some users have.

  5. It will not continue to play chapter after chapter anymore. And if I hit the play button even turning on the volume there’s no sound. Finally, it keeps telling me to turn off add blocker but I have already disabled it and am getting adds. Thank you for your help as well as for the site!

  6. Hello

I absolutely love the audiobooks provided on this site. I visit almost every day and I look forward to my evening listenings. The Stephen Fry sounds won’t load on any of the HP books anymore. Just thought I’d give the heads up. Thank you for all the hard work. It’s very much appreciated!

  7. Thank you so much for what you do. I have been listening to my two favorite book series on your website for years and it’s the only way I can sleep at night. You’re an amazing human. ♡

  8. Amazing reading thanks a lot I am ma Mexican English learner and the voices of Jim Dale are outrageous thanks a lot for this great webpage.

  9. hi! oh the audio links are working again! thanks! may i know how to download this audio? i’d like to put it into my iPad and listen to it on the airplane when i’m traveling. 🙂

  10. Hi, I used to always listen to these audiobooks for HP and i finished. Now im relistening but the audiobooks are no longer on the site but rather on a youtube playlist. Though it was far easier before, I don’t mind listening using this method as they are under chapters but I noticed, in book 5, for example it is in three 10 hour parts rather than in chapters like before. Would it be a bother to change them back to chapters again? It will make everyones life so much easier. Thank you, I love your site. I know im asking too much but I used to always depend on this site and it’s changed a lot; It’s quite hard to get used to now.
