Nine Dragons Audiobook is the 14th story in the Harry Bosch Audiobooks series and the 22nd audiobook (21st novel) by American crime author Michael Connelly. It was published in the U.K. and Ireland on October 1, 2009, and worldwide on October 13, 2009.
The story is partly set in Hong Kong, where Bosch’s daughter Maddie and ex-wife Eleanor Wish live. The name of the most populated region of Hong Kong, Kowloon, means “nine dragons” in English.

The title of the audiobook is great! “Nine Dragons” is the English meaning of “Kowloon” in Hong Kong where most of the action takes place, but another meaning comes out in the story, making it more interesting! The audio provides an education into Chinese tongs and the history of Hong Kong as well as developing the characters of Bosch and Haller and their families.
Connolly’s mastery of the genre and his lean, energetic writing render one heckuva book. He doesn’t waste time with extensive scenic descriptions and there’s not much “he said she said I said” either. Nine Dragons Audiobook Download is told in the first person by its protagonist, Detective Harry Bosch.
Despite the fact that every audiobook in the series ends cynically and with dark undercurrents for the main characters, they are fascinating and exciting. This one is no different, and will satisfy Bosch fans as well as newcomers!

Plot Summary
Harry Bosch is assigned a homicide call in South L.A. that takes him to Fortune Liquors, where the Chinese owner has been shot to death behind the counter in an apparent robbery.
Joined by members of the department’s Asian Crime Unit, Bosch relentlessly investigates the killing and soon identifies a suspect, a Los Angeles member of a Hong Kong triad. But before Harry can close in, he gets the word that his young daughter Maddie, who lives in Hong Kong with her mother, is missing.
Bosch drops everything to journey across the Pacific to find his daughter. Could her disappearance and the case be connected? With the stakes of the investigation so high and so personal, Bosch is up against the clock in a new city, where nothing is at it seems.
