The plot of To Kill a Mockingbird Audiobook free
To Kill a Mockingbird Audiobook is set in the 1930’s, the Great Depression period, affecting southern America. Most of the characters are poor and uneducated farmers. Atticus and his children are comparatively well off and well educated.
The audiobook is about two children, Jem and Scout Finch, living in a fictional southern U.S town, Maycomb, trying to understand the world, through their principled father Atticus Finch and the events that affect them and their neighborhood. The town is steeped in racial and other prejudices. Atticus is a lawyer while most of the neighborhood is made of farmers.
All is well till Atticus takes up a case to defend an innocent, black man –Tom Robinson, who has been falsely accused of raping a white girl. Much to the children’s surprise and shock, they along with their father, are forced to face sudden hostility from their neighbors and friends as their father solely tries to defend a black man. Whether their father wins or loses the case, regains the good opinion of the town, and what the children learn (or more importantly, unlearn and relearn) from the events and the repercussions form the rest of the story.
Why should listen to To Kill a Mockingbird Audiobook free?

Written By: Harper Lee
Narrated By: Sissy Spacek
Publisher: HarperCollins
Duration: 12 hours 20 minutes
To Kill a Mockingbird Audiobook by Harper Lee personally appealed to me mainly with subtle humor, brought in by the gap between the child’s understanding of what happens and what actually happens.
As a Southern Gothic novel and a Bildungsroman, the primary themes of To Kill a Mockingbird Audiobook free involve racial injustice and the destruction of innocence. Scholars have noted that Lee also addresses issues of class, courage, compassion, and gender roles in the American Deep South. The audiobook is widely taught in schools in the United States with lessons that emphasize tolerance and decry prejudice. Despite its themes, To Kill a Mockingbird Audiobook has been subject to campaigns for removal from public classrooms, often challenged for its use of racial epithets.

Nelle Harper Lee (April 28, 1926 – February 19, 2016), better known by her pen name Harper Lee. Nelle Harper Lee was born in Monroeville, Alabama, a sleepy small town similar in many ways to Maycomb, the setting of To Kill a Mockingbird Audio book.
Like Atticus Finch, the father of Scout, the narrator and protagonist of To Kill a Mockingbird Audiobook, Lee’s father was a lawyer. Among Lee’s childhood friends was the future novelist and essayist Truman Capote, from whom she drew inspiration for the character Dill. Thank you for not being cowed by social pressure to remove a book revealing a snapshot of a horrible point in human history. If we look to these type of volumes as guides on not repeating historical mistakes, I think the majority of the criticism for book like this would dry up. Thank you again.
