Emperor of Thorns is the third and final audiobook in The Broken Empire Audiobook trilogy written by Mark Lawrence.
The final part of the Trilogy begins fast and seems to set the pace for the rest of the story. But as in his whole trilogy, Lawrence is not to be anticipated. The pace seems to flow with the pages.
The path to the throne is broken – only the broken can walk it. The world is cracked and time has run through, leaving us clutching at the end days. These are the days that have waited for us all our lives. These are my days. I will stand before the Hundred and they will listen. I will take the throne no matter who stands against me, living or dead, and if I must be the last emperor then I will make of it such an ending.
Plot Summary
King Jorg Ancrath is twenty now – and the king of seven nations. His goal – revenge against his father – has not yet been realized, and the demons that haunt him have only grown stronger. Yet no matter how tortured his path, he intends to take the next step in his upward climb.
Jorg would be emperor. It is a position not to be gained by the sword but rather by vote. And never in living memory has anyone secured a majority of the vote, leaving the Broken Empire long without a leader. Jorg plans to change that. He’s uncovered the lost technology of the land, and he won’t hesitate to use it.
But he soon finds an adversary standing in his way, a necromancer unlike any he has ever faced – a figure hated and feared even more than himself: the Dead King.
Why should you listen to Emperor of Thorns?
I’ve never read, heard nor watched any such story that has enthralled me like Emperor of Thorns Audiobook Mp3. I feel a sense of emptiness upon its ending. This is a story (& series) to be listened to again and again.
Lawrence fills the last book of his series with unexpected twists and turns, and an ending I don’t think readers are at all likely to predict. I certainly didn’t. There will be blood. It was hard to say goodbye to Jorg and his story, but I’m anxious to read Lawrence’s future books set in the Broken Empire.
Simply said, The Broken Empire is a brilliantly written series. Every sentence is just a pure joy to read and carefully crafted. Numerous words like wordsmith and modern fantasy poet spring to mind but you should just find it out for yourself. A perfect ending to a brilliant trilogy and an unpredictable, ruthless and poetic literary masterwork of a great mind.
Emperor of Thorns Audiobook Free Download and the trilogy are terrific. I recommend it to anyone who will listen. The writing is superb the characters brilliant and Joe Jameson’s narration is the best I’ve heard.
