Heat Lightning Audiobook is the second story in John Sandford’s series featuring Virgil Flowers, an investigator with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. The more Flowers works the murders, the more convinced he is that someone’s keeping a list, and that the list could have a lot more names on it. If he could only find out what connects them all . . . and then he does, and he’s almost sorry he did.
Because if it’s true, then this whole thing leads down a lot more trails than he thought – and every one of them is booby-trapped.
Filled with the audacious plotting, rich characters, and brilliant suspense that have always made his books ‘compulsively readable’ (Los Angeles Times), this is vintage Sandford.
The story is quite good as always from Sandford and the climax is interesting, not 100% sure it is that realistic but that is ok, this is fiction.
Plot Summary

About the Author
John Sandford is the pseudonym for the Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist John Camp. He is the author of twenty-six Prey audiobooks (most recently Extreme Prey); four Kidd audiobooks; eight Virgil Flowers audiobooks; two YA novels coauthored with his wife, Michele Cook; and three other books, including Saturn Run. He lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Heat Lightning Audiobook mp3 is an interesting story, although not quite as good as the debut book for the Virgil Flowers series. Good plot with lots of little kinks and curves, and Sandford’s trademark guy humor. Also many familiar characters carried over from the Lucas Davenport series, so I felt I was hangin’ with my old friends.
It’s easy to understand how John Sandford parlayed this gem of a mystery novel into his second popular series. What I liked the most about the book was that the mystery and story setting was so different from the first one but yet I felt Virgil was still true to the character introduced in the first book. His chemistry with Lucas, Sally, and the other characters came through really well. He is just a likable guy.
Overall this is an enjoyable crime thriller with an interesting lead character and some good action scenes, and eventually the series clicked up to the level I’ve come to expect from Sandford.
