In response, he wrote Brian’s Winter, which explores what would have happened if Brian had not activated the transmitter, not being found by rescuers even if 34 days have passed, and he is still stranded in the woods carrying a hatchet…

Gary Paulsen raises the stakes for survival in this riveting and inspiring story as one boy confronts the ultimate test and the ultimate adventure.

Plot Summary

In Hatchet, 13-year-old Brian Robeson learned to survive alone in the Canadian wilderness, armed only with his hatchet. Finally, as millions of listeners know, he was rescued at the end of the summer. But what if Brian hadn’t been rescued? What if he had been left to face his deadliest enemy – winter?

The story deals with Brian, still stranded at the L-shaped lake during the fall and winter, constructing a winter shelter, building snowshoes, being confronted by a bear, befriending and naming a skunk and learning how to make a bow more powerful. Eventually, Brian meets a family of Cree trappers, the Smallhorns, who help him return home.

Again, I review that I love these books, not only am I a Gary Paulsen Fan, but I also like survival books; and if you like survival Brian’s Winter Audiobook Mp3 is for you.

I feel that the author’s purpose in writing this book to try and tell people to get out of their comfort zones, because you never know what can happen to you or someone you love. I feel the author did a great job portraying that.

I would recommend this audiobook to anyone. It is an easy read. No matter your imagination, this book will keep you on the edge of your seat and wanting to know more. I rate the book five out of five stars.

Plot Summary

“We want you to do it again.”

These words, spoken to Brian Robeson, a 15-year-old boy who spent 54 days surviving alone in the Canadian wilderness the previous summer, changes his life.

After hesitation at first, Brian eventually agrees with the suggestion from the government as they would like him to again in the woods with only two knives and surviving only by his wits, so the military can learn his survival techniques.

This time, Brian sets out for a remote Canadian location accompanied by Derek Holtzer, a government psychologist. Soon, the project backfires, though, leaving Brian with a wounded partner and a long river to navigate. His only hope is to build a raft and try to transport the injured man a hundred miles downstream to a trading post – if the map he has is accurate.

This sequel to The Hatchet is so well-crafted and just as suspenseful as the first book. Just like The Hatchet: The River Audiobook Mp3 that Brian paddles down, this story also has many twists & turns that keeps you riveted & inside Brian’s head. You truly get a sense of his angst, even if you haven’t spent time in The Backcountry.

If you have (as I have) you get a true sense of his desperation & struggle to acclimatize when returning home that few understand who haven’t experienced the struggle.

Plot Summary

On his way to visit his recently divorced father to spend the summer within the Canadian mountains, thirteen-year-old Brian Robeson is the only survivor when the single-engine plane crashes. His body battered, his clothes in shreds, Brian must now stay alive in the boundless Canadian wilderness.

Out of sheer luck, clear thinking and disbelief, Brian is able to land the plane on his own and escapes. He then realizes that he needs food and shelter for him to survive until rescue arrives. He must learn to survive on his own with nothing but his hatchet – a gift his mother gave him shortly before his plane departed.

Review

Captain Marvel – Liberation Run Audiobook Mp3 is awesome! It is both feminist and queer positive. I enjoyed every minute of the novel, as it is so satisfying to read about women rising above misogyny.

There are characters I knew and already loved from the movies, comic characters who haven’t made their film debut yet, and original characters that made up a loveable main group.

I fell in love with Carol Danvers during Kelly Sue DeConnick’s redefining run. I liked her new costume, her new outlook and her unabashed joy of flying.

One of my favorite audiobooks I’ve listened in a long time!

Review

This was a really fun story. I heard the GraphicAudio version (GA is GREAT. I can listen to their stories anywhere while traveling, or while doing anything that doesn’t require my ears, such as making food in the kitchen or anything else). It reminded me a bit of the universe of the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. It had a similar kind of zany humor.

A lot of parties, mega-corporations, individuals and warrior societies are on the hunt for a special Recorder unit. This recorder (a sentient recording robot) is the narrator of this tale. And what a tale it is. Rocket and Groot come across the recorder just in time to save it from getting captured by various parties and from there on, it’s a madcap ride through the galaxy.

Anyone who gets their hand on Rocket Raccoon and Groot Steal the Galaxy Audiobook Mp3 will have access to unlimited information and power over the entire multiverse, making them in effect, a god.

I understand that Rocket Raccoon has disconcertingly human hands and that our narrator can’t get past this, but by the third time the phrase was used I was over it. Oh, and there was a whole lot of flarking going on too. What the flark? Flark this and flark that and flark him and her and… look, I enjoy a good flarking as much as the next guy, but aren’t there other made-up expletives and phrases that our characters could have used?

This was a really fun story and any fans of the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy should definitely give this a try.

Just finished listening to “Guardians Of The Galaxy – Collect Them All Audiobook Mp3” released by GraphicAudio.

Groot is not being Groot.

Rocket, Peter, Gamora, and Drax are worried that Groot’s latest regrowth may have left him less of his usual self. The Guardians soon learn that someone has been collecting splinters of Groot when he sacrificed himself to save his teammates and others and replanting them – growing their own Groots.

That someone is the Collector – an immortal elder who is trying to assemble, as Peter and the rest of the Guardians soon discover, his own Guardian of the Galaxy tribute team.
Yet it’s not so simple in putting a stop to the Collector’s plans. He’s kidnapped Kiya, one of the last known survivors of Gamora’s homeworld, and has surgically implanted her with deadly technology which is slowly killing her in an attempt to create another Gamora.
Kiya escapes from the Collector, but she had been selling genetically modified Groots in order to gain the funds she needs to have the implants taken out of her. Nothing is what it seems to be the Guardians soon learn.

And there is the little problem of all those Groots running about.

An excellent collection. All of the stories (and the poem) were highly enjoyable.

I cried a little during You Are Released by Joe Hill (it was my favorite in this collection, which is saying something, because I loved the whole book), enjoyed Air Raid by John Varley so much that his novel Millennium went immediately on my to be read list, was reminded how much I love Roald Dahl’s short stories, read my first non-Sherlock story by Arthur Conan Doyle (really liked it) and read my very first Ray Bradbury story!

Of course, I enjoyed Stephen King audiobook. Flight or Fright Audiobook Mp3 was very good and I will probably reread it. What really pleased me about this book though was the number of authors that I now want to explore further – that’s an exciting thought and I’m glad Stephen King and Bev Vincent brought them to my attention.
