The Eye of Heaven is the sixth audiobook in the Fargo Adventure archeology suspense series and revolving around Sam and Remi Fargo. It twists and turns after Sam and Remi find a long lost Viking ship that was buried under a now-receding glacier. And then the fun begins!
As in all of their adventures, the original find leads them to other places in the world–other treasure to find. And they always inform the local authorities and make sure the objects are owned by the country where the find is located.
Plot Summary
Baffin Island: Husband-and-wife team Sami and Remi Fargo are on a climate-control expedition in the Arctic, when to their astonishment they discover a Viking ship in the ice, perfectly preserved – and filled with pre-Columbian artifacts from Mexico.
How can that be? As they plunge into their research, tantalizing clues about a link between the Vikings and the legendary Toltec feathered serpent god Quetzalcoatl – and a fabled object known as the Eye of Heaven – begin to emerge. But so do many dangerous people. Soon the Fargos find themselves on the run through jungles, temples, and secret tombs, caught between treasure hunters, crime cartels, and those with a far more personal motivation for stopping them. At the end of the road will be the solution to a thousand-year-old mystery – or death.
About the author
Clive Eric Cussler (born July 15, 1931) is an American journey novelist and underwater explorer. His thriller novel, offering a couple of characters Dirk Pitt, reached The New York Times Fiction Best-Seller List extra than 20 times.
Cussler is the founder and president of the real-life National Underwater and Marine Agency (NUMA), which has found extra than 60 shipwreck websites and many different amazing underwater wrecks. He is the sole writer or lead creator of over 70 Audiobooks.
Audiobook Reviews
Another great addition to the Fargo series. There are some new adversaries, the return of some old characters, and of course plenty of history woven into the adventure. The Fargo audiobooks series has been ticking along quite nicely with some interesting history being worked into the stories, this one is no exception with our husband and wife team set out to confirm a link between the Vikings and the legendary Toltec god Quetzalcoatl and the fabled eye of heaven each of the answers they seek.
The Eye of Heaven Audiobook mp3 was less gritty than those, but I enjoyed it just as much. It was a lot of fun and a great way to get away from everyday life. Highly recommend it if you want to go on an adventure without leaving home.
About the narration, I think Scott Brick does a very good job, as he does with the other Cussler audiobooks he reads. I don’t believe he has the range or difference in tones that some other narrators do, but all in all I enjoy his work.
