The plot summary

The crewmembers of the Argo II, a mix of Greek and Roman demigods, have been on many quests in their fight against Gaea, the earth mother. However, despite their progress, they still seem far from defeating her. All of Gaea’s giants have risen and are stronger than ever before. They must be stopped before the upcoming Feast of Spes, where Gaea plans to sacrifice two demigods in Athens to use their blood, the blood of Olympus, to wake.

The demigods are experiencing more frequent visions of a terrible battle that will take place at Camp Half-Blood. The Roman legion from Camp Jupiter, led by Octavian, is almost within striking distance. While it’s tempting to take the Athena Parthenos to Athens to use as a secret weapon, the friends know that the huge statue belongs back on Long Island, where it might prevent a war between the two camps.

The plan is for the Athena Parthenos to go west, while the Argo II will head east. However, the gods are still suffering from multiple personality disorder and are useless in the fight against Gaea’s army of powerful giants. It seems impossible for a handful of young demigods to persevere, but they have no other option. They have already sacrificed too much. If Gaea wakes, it’s game over.

Why should you listen to the Blood of Olympus Audiobook?

The Blood of Olympus Audiobook free really brought me back to my teenage years. I remember reading the very first Percy Jackson audiobook when I was fifteen, just out of school and heading into college. I fell in love with them just as much as I had with the Harry Potter Audiobooks.

I even remember listening to Son of Neptune and feeling frustrated because Mark of Athena didn’t come out until October! I finished seven audiobooks in less than two weeks, even while at camp – that’s how much I loved them.

Saying goodbye to your favorite characters is never easy, especially when you know there won’t be any more stories about them. I know there are Demigod Diaries and Kane Chronicles / PJ crossover novellas, but they just don’t quite hit the same way. There’s a scene during the fight with the Stoll brothers where Connor says, “Yeah, can’t complain. Nice day for it.” in reference to the war, and it gave me major Fred and George feelings.

Farewell to Percy, Annabeth, Grover, Clarisse, Nico, Reyna, Will, Jason, Piper, Hazel, Frank, Leo, Rachel, Connor, Travis, and everyone else. It was a great ride.
