The Silmarillion Audiobook is a collection of J.R.R. Tolkien’s works, edited and published posthumously by his son Christopher Tolkien, with assistance from fantasy fiction writer Guy Gavriel Kay.

This audiobook is an account of the Elder Days, of the First Age of Tolkien’s world. It is the ancient drama to which the characters in The Lord of the Rings Audiobook look back, and in whose events some of them such as Elrond and Galadriel took part.

The tales of The Silmarillion are set in an age when Morgoth, the first Dark Lord, dwelt in Middle-Earth, and the High Elves made war upon him for the recovery of the Silmarils, the jewels containing the pure light of Valinor.

Included in the audiobook are several shorter works. ‘The Ainulindale’ is a myth of the Creation and in the Valaquenta the nature and powers of each of the gods is described. ‘The Akallabeth’ recounts the downfall of the great island kingdom of Númenor at the end of the Second Age and ‘Of the Rings of Power’ tells of the great events at the end of the Third Age, as narrated in The Lord of the Rings.

Plot Summary

The three Silmarils were jewels created by Fëanor, most gifted of the Elves. Within them was imprisoned the Light of the Two Trees of Valinor before the Trees themselves were destroyed by Morgoth, the first Dark Lord.

Thereafter, the unsullied Light of Valinor lived on only in the Silmarils, but they were seized by Morgoth and set in his crown, which was guarded in the impenetrable fortress of Angband in the north of Middle-earth.

Writing a review of the LOTRs Silmarillion Audiobook Mp3 is like trying to review the Bible. Where do you even start? There’s just so much story here. Any attempt to convey it in a review would be to do the book a massive disservice. There would only ever be enough space to talk about one or a few elements of the work.

This audiobook is the epic backstory and mythology of Middle Earth. The grandeur and beauty of the language, and indeed the content, is reminiscent of the King James Edition of the Bible, beloved by Tolkien.

Narration: I’ve been waiting for a good audiobook version of the Silmarillion for a while. Here it is, and it’s great! The narrator does a good job, I think. You could argue that his delivery is a tad too stentorian or declamatory, but the text is a hard one to read naturally, and this way of reading it is not inappropriate.

As far as I know, he gets all the pronunciations right, which is nice. The music may not win an academy award, but it feels appropriate in tone.

The excellent world-building and thrilling plot points. I also love so many of the characters. They just complement one another so well. Persephone takes a major back seat as this audiobook is largely carried by Brin and Tesh among others. The devotion between characters is truly touching as well.

Every time I pick up one of these audiobooks I am left in awe. I thought this one wouldn’t be as good after the last one ended. I thought, what else could he possibly do. Boy was I wrong my emotions have attached even more to the characters. I CAN’T WAIT for the next installment…

Characters usually develop with each other and with the progression of the war, which makes the story flow well. At any point during the series, it’s easy to understand and connect with each of them.

Sullivan has a pretty simple writing style. It serves to give you a good story that’s pure fun to read; escapism at its best. I plan to buy a final copy when it’s ready.

If you enjoy epic fantasy and are perhaps hungering for something with timeless appeal, then I highly recommend picking up this audiobook.

This is a really good story and I enjoyed most of it, even the parts that broke my heart a little or a lot, but I didn’t love it quite as much as the first audiobook of the series.

Sullivan is a competent writer with a flowing style that doesn’t suffer from the same density employed by many other fantasy writers. He does such a brilliant job painting a picture of this world and these people. There are funny touches (many inventions and discoveries) and sad moments. Age of Swords Audiobook Download is written by someone who understands both the human heart and psyche.

Several characters develop in intriguing ways, rising to the occasion when trouble comes. And it ends very strongly, with a few twists and turns that really increased the reading pleasure.

If you enjoy epic fantasy and are perhaps hungering for something with timeless appeal, then I highly recommend picking up Age of Myth. Fans of Michael J Sullivan could not and will not be disappointed.

Author: Sullivan is a competent writer with a flowing style that doesn’t suffer from the same density employed by many other fantasy writers. He does such a brilliant job painting a picture of this world and these people. Not only that but the story is fresh and unique. I read so many stories that just seem to be a slight deviation of the same old story. This book is not like that. If you want to read a book full of adventure and deceit with strong male and female characters, but not full of violence and sex, this is the perfect book for you.

Story: The characters are great, the world is interesting, and the mysteries of the world kept me wanting more. However, at the very end you realize that Sullivan showed his hand quite a bit during the book, and by the last couple of paragraphs, the obvious conclusion was the actual one.

Narrator: Tim Gerard Reynolds is a brilliant narrator. I have never heard him do a sub-par job on an audiobook and he was brilliant reading this one. Skyward Audiobook is a young adult science fiction novel written by American author Brandon Sanderson, that set in the same universe as Sanderson’s short story Defending Elysium, which details some events before humans became fugitives.

This audiobook is a bit of a change for Sanderson. Rather than his typical Fantasy works, this is very much a science fiction. Even his other most ‘sci-fi’ type series, Reckoners, is a superhero. This is spaceships, strange planets, artificial intelligence, and aliens. In some ways, it reminds me of Ender’s Game – teens training to fight in an alien war.

What is the story?

Spensa’s world has been under alien attack for decades. Pilots are the heroes of what’s left of humanity, and becoming a pilot is Spensa’s dream. Ever since she was a little girl, Spensa has dreamed of soaring skyward and proving her bravery. But her father’s legacy stands in the way – he was a pilot who was killed for desertion years ago, branding Spensa the daughter of a coward, and making her chances of attending flight school slim to none.

Spense is still determined to fly – even if it means she must be as resilient in the face of long odds as humanity itself has had to be against the alien threat. And her accidental discovery in a long-forgotten cavern might just grant her a way to claim the stars.

Why should you listen to Skyward Audiobook free?

There’s a lot of reasons why I’m a faithful listener of Brandon Sanderson. His ingenious magic systems, fully fleshed-out worlds, and bomb-diggity characters are just a few of the elements that keep me coming back for more. Simply put, to use a writer’s phrase, Sanderson takes care of the reader. I trust that every story written by him is going to be a good story, and Skyward Audiobook Mp3 is no exception, despite the fact that it’s his first space opera and there’s zero magic.

Lighter than Stormlight Archive Audiobooks or Mistborn Audiobooks but with its own share of emotional highs and lows. The mystery running in the background that unfolds left me trying to work out everything whenever I wasn’t listening. Sanderson managed to make a developed “magic” system you understand, but this time it’s in how the ships fly and shoot. You fully grasp how each weapon and subsystem in the fighters work.

Overall, I did adore this book. It was just what I needed. So much happens, the characters are flawed but their growth is fascinating to watch. The story is complex and becomes more interesting as it progresses. Every time I thought I knew where things were going… I was wrong. And happy to be.

Story: I’m so sad this series is over and that I finished the last audiobook – The Empty Grave Audiobook Free. I really would have loved to listen to a sixth or seventh installment and if you ask me Stroud definitely should have written more books.

The Lockwood & Co. finale was full of action, fighting (against ghosts and people alike), fantastic foreshadowing, adorable moments between our beloved characters, squad goals (they are, honestly), and tiny little chefs chopping onions. Not literally. But my eyes did sweat a little, and that’s what made this book so great.

I just loved this series and the way Stroud wrote it. He managed to create a unique world and characters that will stay with me forever and for that, I’m very thankful.

Narration: The narrator was very good, she brought the characters to life made me feel like I was there. the whole series was good I’m glad I was able to listen to them.

The Creeping Shadow is the fourth book of the Lockwood & Co. series‏‎ and you need to read the previous books to understand the storyline. It’s an equally scary sequel to The Screaming Staircase, The Whispering Skull, and The Hollow Boy.

This book picks up where the shocking ending of the previous book left off. I loved seeing Lucy, Lockwood, George, and Holly together again. Lucy will be ok on her own but hoping, she will go back to Lockwood & Co. The danger is real for Lucy & also Lockwood & Co. as they join forces to fight together against more ghosts than ever before!

Plot Summary

After leaving Lockwood & Co. at the end of The Hollow Boy, Lucy is a freelance operative hiring herself out to agencies that value her ever-improving skills. One day she is pleasantly surprised by a visit from Lockwood, who tells her he needs a good Listener for a tough assignment. Penelope Fittes, the leader of the giant Fittes Agency, wants them – and only them – to locate and remove the Source for the legendary Brixton Cannibal. They succeed in their very dangerous task, but tensions remain high between Lucy and the other agents. Even the skull in the jar talks to her like a jilted lover.

What will it take to reunite the team? Black marketeers, an informant ghost, a Spirit Cape that transports the wearer, and mysteries involving Steve Rotwell and Penelope Fittes just may do the trick. But in a shocking cliff-hanger ending, the team learns that someone has been manipulating them all along.

Audiobook Reviews

The characters as the same as you remember. Endlessly charming in their individuality, and each witty as hell. I was surprised the find that the character I was most excited to see wasn’t Lockwood but the skull.

The story has everything I have come to expect from this series: a hair-raising mystery, the edge of your seat action and hilarious moments with team. Author Jonathan Stroud is a talented writer and gives fans another shocking ending. I can’t wait for the next book!

About the narrator: Emily’s got all these voices down pat and is superbly entertaining. Emily Bevan’s narration is as spine-tingling as the adventures in this fourth Lockwood & Co. story… Bevan’s rendition of the wry skull is laugh-out-loud perfect. Also spot-on is the suspense she brings to the drama of a threatening spirit, the sinister forces behind it, and Lucy’s joy at being reunited with her friends.
