In the fifth audiobook in King’s best-selling epic fantasy series, the farming community in the fertile lands of the East has been warned the wolves are coming back. Four gunslingers, led by Roland of Gilead, are also coming their way. And the farmers of the Calla want to enlist some hard calibers.
Wolves of the Calla Audiobook is a fantasy novel by American writer Stephen King, the fifth book in his The Dark Tower series. This book continues the story of Roland Deschain, Eddie Dean, Susannah Dean, Jake Chambers, and Oy as they make their way toward the Dark Tower. The subtitle of this novel is Resistance.
If you’ve enjoyed the previous four audiobooks in the series then you will not be disappointed with number five, Wolves of the Calla Audiobook Free. As was the case with Wizard and Glass, it is almost a self-contained story, complete with a whole new set of new and memorable characters. In short, the narrative covers the planning and defense of the “Calla” from the wolves but there are also so many sub-plots that have great importance in the Dark Tower quest as a whole.
Roland and his band of followers have narrowly escaped one world and slipped into the next. There Roland tells them a tale of long-ago love and adventure involving a beautiful and quixotic woman named Susan Delgado. And there they will be drawn into an ancient mystery of spellbinding magic and supreme menace…
Roland Deschain and his ka-tet are bearing southeast through the forests of Mid-World on their quest for the Dark Tower. Their path takes them to the outskirts of Calla Bryn Sturgis. But beyond the tranquil farm town, the ground rises to the hulking darkness of Thunderclap, the source of a terrible affliction that is stealing the town’s soul. The wolves of Thunderclap and their unspeakable depredation are coming. To resist them is to risk all, but these are odds the gunslingers are used to. Their guns, however, will not be enough….
Set in a world of extraordinary circumstances, filled with stunning visual imagery and unforgettable characters, the Dark Tower series is unlike anything you have ever read. Here is the fifth installment.

The story in Stephen King – Wolves of the Calla Audiobook was just about as great as The Waste Lands. So, I put this tied with The Drawing of the Three as my second favorite installment. Things were kind of mysterious in some parts, such as who was the snitch, and who or what were the wolves.
The end with the ‘Salem’s Lot mention was also pretty brilliant. Father Callahan’s part in the quest for the Dark Tower, the voices at the bottom of the cave, and just all of the connections to the number 19, Calvin Tower, the bookstore, etc….just brilliant.
King has such a creative mind, and I think this book completely made up for Wizard and Glass for me. Thanks King for delivering a solid audiobook again.
